Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammaplasty)

Breast Augmentation is performed to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. Women who feel that their breasts have always been too small, or want to restore the volume of their breasts after pregnancy and/or breast feeding often opt for breast augmentation to feel more feminine and attractive. Breast augmentation also can be done to correct asymmetry, when one breast is larger than the other.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Breast Lift (Mastopexy) is a surgical procedure to lift and reshape the breasts. As a woman ages, gravity, pregnancy, breast feeding, weight loss, and weight gain begin to take a toll on the size, shape, and feel of a woman's breasts. The breasts often begin to sag, soften and flatten out, and although the volume may remain the same, the breasts often lose elasticity and firmness. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola for women whose areola has stretched or has always been too large. Excess skin, not tissue, is removed. This procedure can reshape and rejuvenate sagging breasts providing a more youthful and attractive appearance. Some women also opt to have breast implants inserted in conjunction with a lift to augment the size of their breasts.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is a surgical procedure designed to recreate the natural contour of a breast or breasts following a mastectomy or decision to correct a breast anomaly. This can be accomplished through use of a prosthesis (breast implant) or reconstruction from a woman's own tissue (a tissue flap). Often the opposite breast is augmented, reduced, or lifted to match the reconstructed breast, and the nipple and areola also may be reconstructed. Although the reconstructed breast will never look exactly like the non-reconstructed breast, excellent results can be achieved for many women.

Breast Reduction

Also known as reduction mammaplasty, breast reduction removes excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body and to alleviate the discomfort associated with overly large breasts.

Breast Reduction - Women

Breast Reduction is a surgical procedure to make breasts more proportional to the rest of a woman's body. Although the incisions are similar to those used in a breast lift, this surgery reduces the amount of breast tissue rather than just skin. Most women who request breast reduction are seeking relief from physical symptoms caused by the excessive weight of their breasts. Symptoms may include back, neck and shoulder pain, indentation from bra straps, rashes below the breasts, restriction of physical activity, and self-consciousness about the size of the breasts. Most insurance companies will now cover the costs of this surgery if the size and presenting problems meet the company's criteria for inclusion.
