'I just want you to know that you are a true artist. Your ability to transform the human body is amazing. For the better part of 12 years, every moment, of every day of my life focused on my belly, my shape, and my insecurity was driving me literally insane. 'It has taken me awhile to write this letter of thanks because I have been very busy feeling like myself again. When I think of what you have given me it brings tears to my eyes.

Although no one around me realized it, I was broken when I entered your office three years ago. I was the active mother of three boys and the happy wife to a wonderful man but, everyday the first thing I though about was my stomach and how, after three ten pound babies delivered via c-section my body actually looked deformed. This was also the last thing I thought about at night as I was falling asleep. It is true, that I hid it very well with clothes so no one knew how I really looked and the mental anguish it was causing me. Nothing helped and I would lose weight just to gain it back because although I was successful at losing weight my body did not look like a success.

Why did it take me so long to decide to have a tummy tuck? My children were young and needed constant care and I kept thinking if I kept losing weight it would get better ...it didn't! However, I will say that I was never once pushed in any direction. You and your staff respected my time line and let me come to the decision when the time was right for my surgery.

Every time I walked into your office I was treated like I was the only patient you had. All of my questions and concerns we addressed prior to my surgery and I felt comfortable with the big decision I had made. I even had financial mix up and it was treated like everything else in your office: with professionalism and a little humor!

After my surgery I had a couple little glitches and you or your nurses were either at my house or on the phone with me in minutes. Because of the way I was treated I never felt like 'just another patient'. I felt like I was truly cared for which, quite frankly, is hard to find in today's dog-eat-dog world.

Finally the results: I look completely normal ...like myself again. I can wear skirts and dresses and zip up my jeans. Do I still have 35 pounds to lose ...yes, but now when I am losing weight I am seeing the results and I am thrilled. I no longer catch my reflection in a window and don't know that it is me. I don't feel self conscious when I meet people for the first time and I wake up each morning and go to sleep each night without thinking about how awful I look. I am able to be the wife and mother that my family deserves because I am not focused on negative thoughts about myself. Quite simply, I am me again and for that there is no way to thank each and every person in the office and especially you Doctor Hollan for making me whole again. Words Fail Me, ' ~Alicia E.
